About the Artist

I really started taking an interest in art and painting right out of high school when I received a small scholarship to art classes. But back then it was off and on painting but taking classes whenever I could.

Then I can't say how long it was that everything just became on hold as far as art and painting, probably when having kids and lots of family problems clouding my mind to even imagine things I wanted to paint. So for a couple of decades I can't recall painting anything. Then the time came and I remember the month of May for some reason, where I had started back to work as a stylist and I got a new man client who was a professional artist and I wanted to take lessons from him. This was a point I remember well in my life for I began to create and learn to become better at something I loved to do, then sometime after this things were again on hold.

Now with grand kids in college and me needing to figure out what I want to do with my life when they are so busy trying to keep up with their goals and degrees needed which I fully support emotionally at least. So if you were to walk into my very small mobile home right now, you'd see one of my rooms set up for painting with paints and canvases here and there, paintings I started then decided to paint something different, and in the upstairs living area where I'd have grandkids over and cook for them when they were available more then, are my many craft projects and all the boxes filled with everything I need to make these from jute, ribbons, wood sticks, glue sticks and many more things needed for that whim I get in the middle of the night to make something that just popped into my head.

I'd have to say painting and making all kinds of things from practical gifts, wall decor, bottle art and more, is a passion I have developed over the years, and when I get on a roll I want to finish something so I can move onto the next thing I want to make. I'd have to say as long as there's a place somewhere for me to at least paint and create abstracts with colors and shapes that make the painting, I'll be found with a paint brush in my hands with my last breath. But should grandkids show up I drop everything for these precious ones for whom we always have great conversations and lots of laughter.
